Dearest Gamers,
While this author is obviously wise and well-learned, some updates were required to make this game even more enjoyable. Namely:
Your goal now alters the win conditions of the game (eg if you choose fortune hunter, you must acquire 200 fortune before the game ends in order to win). I had to adjust other elements of the game to suit this, such as:
- You can only choose from 2 goals now (removed 'cause a scandal' as it did not fit the new win condition perameters, but I have plans to put it back in later).
- Fortune and Fame maximums are now higher to accommodate new win conditions.
- To adjust for the Fortune Hunter win condition, you can no longer "Sell Gossip" at any time from you inventory. You can only "Spread Gossip" to decrease your fame from gossipmongering.
- To adjust for no longer being able to sell Gossip, new / updated passages now allow you to earn money in variety of ways (some of which are not quite reputable) so you can still get those shillings.
I also adjusted how random events were rolled to minimize frequently re-rolling the same events, based on player feedback that this wasn't as fun as I thought it would be.
Many thanks to my friends who playtested this for me and who were honest with their thoughts, the game and I are both better for it!
